Police investigating Friday morning shooting in Town of Tonawanda

Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Police in the Town of Tonawanda are investigating a shooting Friday morning that occurred at the Parkside Mini-Mart located at 1150 Sheridan Drive.

The Town of Tonawanda Police Department says at around 9:52 a.m., a dispute between two male acquaintances led to one of the male parties producing a handgun and firing two shots at the other male, who was seated in a car at a red light on Sheridan Parkside Drive.

Police believe at this time, it appears no one was struck by any of the shots that were fired.

Town of Tonawanda police do have a suspect in custody, 21-year-old Dameek Dennis of the Town of Tonawanda, where he has been charged with Reckless Endangerment in the first degree (Class “D” felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree (Class “C” felony).

Police assure the public that this was a targeted incident between two parties known to each other.
