Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo police have made the arrest of an individual connected with an incident that led Buffalo Public Schools to direct its employees working at City Hall Wednesday to shelter in place.
A female victim reported an assault on Monday by a known assailant, who she had an existing order of protection against, at the B District station house. The victim was later transported to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
Then on Wednesday, the known suspect placed multiple calls threatening the same victim while she was in her office at Buffalo City Hall. The Buffalo Police Department and City Hall security staff were immediately notified, thus activating those working in the Buffalo Public Schools offices into the shelter in place order.
Later that night, the Buffalo Police Department's Special Victims Unit, with the help of other department units, located the suspect in the 100 block of Laurel Street and apprehended him without incident.
The suspect has been Identified as 32-year-old Willie Jeter.
Jeter faces multiple charges, including one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class D felony), two counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (Class E felony) and one count of Harassment in the Second Degree.
At the time of his arrest, Jeter had a federal Fugitive from Justice warrant for his arrest after cutting off his ankle monitor while under federal supervision.
