Remote learning for Buffalo Public Schools Friday

Bitter cold weather prompts Buffalo Public Schools to go to remote learning on Friday. Activities and athletic events are also cancelled Friday.

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Buffalo Public Schools will have a remote day of learning Friday, January 30, 2026. All students and staff should stay home. All afterschool activities, athletic practices and contest are canceled on Friday.

All students will connect remotely for a day of learning using their school-issued or personal devices through such platforms as Schoology, Clever, and Teams or use the instructional materials previously sent home with students by their individual schools. Alternative instruction will also take place remotely on Friday at the regularly scheduled time.

On Saturday, January 31, all athletic contests will take place. However, the Saturday Academies scheduled for Saturday at Frank A. Sedita Academy PS 30, Dr. Charles R. Drew Science PS 59, Southside Elementary PS 93, and Riverside Academy PS 208 are canceled.

The adult education welding class scheduled on Saturday, January 31, at Burgard High School PS 301 will take place.
