Cheektowaga Police search for door that fell off small plane over town

Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) -A small plane with two people aboard landed safely at Buffalo Niagara International Airport on Monday after its rear door fell off, police said.

Police and fire dispatch received a call for assistance from the Buffalo International Airport. A small plane carrying two people reported losing a door to the plane while flying over the area of Stiglmeier Park in Cheektowaga.

The private plane lost the door around 5:30 p.m.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the door. No one has reported any property damage or injury as a result of the incident.
