Corfu, NY (WBEN) It's exciting times at Six Flags Darien Lake, as the theme park prepares to welcome visitors for the first time since 2019.
"We are very excited to welcome guests back," says Jody Brege, who notes the park was unable to open in 2020 because of the pandemic. But she says you won't be able to just drive up to the park. "You do have to make a reservation in advance to come to our park so we can keep to our capacity limitations that we have," explains Brege.
Brege says you'll see contactless temperature screening and security checks as you enter. "You'll see a lot of hand washing and sanitizing stations throughout the park. We also have to keep with six feet distancing in queue lines, indoors and along the midway," says Brege.
Come Saturday, masks will not be required for vaccinated guests. Brege says the park will use the honor system when it comes to masks.
Questions about concerts were referred to LiveNation, which did not respond to requests for comment.
