BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Several states were removed from the New York State travel advisory.
Ohio, Nevada, Minnesota, Maryland, Hawaii, and California were all removed from the state's COVID-19 travel advisory, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo. The Northern Mariana Islands were also removed.
Puerto Rico was added to the travel advisory.
"When other states and territories make progress fighting COVID-19, that's good for New York and while I am glad to see areas removed from the travel advisory list, it still remains far too long," Governor Cuomo said in a statement. "Make no mistake: We must continue to be New York Tough and stay smart. Wearing masks, social distancing and hand washing is what tamed this beast in New York and we must keep it up."
One percent of the coronavirus tests yielded a positive result on Monday. There were 11 deaths in the state on Monday.
