Rochester, N.Y. (WBEN) - It was more of a case of people hearing it, rather than feeling it. A small earthquake was detected near Rochester on Wednesday night.
It was a 2.2 magnitude earthquake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, and it was centered in Lake Ontario, about 27 miles from Rochester.
It happened at approximately 7:19 p.m. on Wednesday.
Many people reported hearing a rumbling sound that was similar to thunder.
