Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Wednesday marks the 21st annual Radiothon to benefit the SPCA Serving Erie County. The SPCA says it's your chance to take part in miracles that happen each day.
Gina Lattuca with the SPCA says it's that one time of the year they focus on the miracles that are happening at the SPCA.
"Some people might think that we're exaggerating when we say that miracles are happening every day, but when you see animals lives being saved every day, animals that you never think will pull through are saved. When you see families being made whole and complete this a little miracle in itself," explains Lattuca.
Lattuca tells WBEN it's about emotional connections that are being made every day at the SPCA Serving Erie County.
"When we're talking about this time of year, this isn't necessarily a happy time of year for everyone," notes Lattuca. "We're seeing the impact that some of our animals are having on the people who come to visit us we see children, some children who have had different types of communication issues, starting to try to whisper to an animal or talk to an animal that's a miracle, something that never gets old."
Wednesday marks your opportunity to be an angel for the animals.
"People can become angels for the animals at $20 a month for 12 months. But one-time gifts of any amount are happily appreciated and accepted. And the nice thing when you donate in any way, you listen to the stories happening all year, and you know that you are a part of it, you are a part of making those miracles happen," adds Lattuca.
