A spectacular weather weekend is in store for the Buffalo-Niagara region, with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures around 80 degrees.
Great weather ahead to go out and get some ice cream! Expect mostly dry weather for much of the weekend, with just a chance for a scattered shower/thunderstorm across the NY/PA state border today. pic.twitter.com/NLOU4ZYxTD

Some summertime sizzle will begin to settle in as the work week unfolds and the Western New York region finds itself on the edge of a Midwest heat dome.
A multiday heat wave is brewing across the middle of the nation ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, expanding from the Plains to the Midwest and even nosing into the East.
National Weather Service forecasters in Buffalo say a hot and humid air mass will push into western and north central New York, resulting in the potential for multiple days of 90+ degree weather and even hotter heat indices from Tuesday through Friday.
"It will turn very hot and humid in the East for the second half of next week," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Chad Merrill said.
Some relief from the heat is possible during the mid week period with the potential for showers and thunderstorms.
Stay tuned!
