Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - One of the cranes working on the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park has been sidelined after being struck by lightning.
The Erie County Department of Public Works says the crane on the North side of the stadium site was struck during the same storm system last week Wednesday that spawned four tornados across the Western New York region.
The crane is down, and may be so for a week or two as crews await parts.
No injuries were reported as a result of the lightning strike.
