Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Nearly four months after the State University of New York (SUNY) appointed Dr. Chance Glenn as the new future president of Buffalo State University, the school announced on Wednesday it has rescinded his appointment.

Instead, Dr. Bonita Durand has agreed to, once again, lead the campus through the 2025-26 academic year until another new president is appointed.

"We are grateful for Dr. Durand’s wisdom and service. As interim president, Dr. Durand has provided seamless leadership in enhancing student success and moving the campus toward financial sustainability. I am grateful that Dr. Durand will continue implementing that work, which will also allow time for a full search for the next campus president," said SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr. in a statement.

Glenn's appointment was set to take effect come July 1 after serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Houston-Victoria since 2019.

However, according to a report from the Victoria Advocate back on March 2, UVH Faculty Council members unanimously wanted an interim provost appointed after some ethical concerns arose surrounding Glenn, including questions about potential conflicts of interest, double standards and more.

School officials at SUNY Buffalo State did not disclose the reasoning for rescinding Glenn's appointment.
