Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Super Bowl LVIII is history, as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime thriller on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

But not everyone was tuned in solely for the game.

It was also the biggest night of the year for advertising.

"There was a lot of humor. That's always a nice treat," said Frank Conjerti, with the Martin Group in Buffalo.

One ad, for M&M's, hit Western New Yorkers a little hard, as it poked fun at "almost champions." It focused on the candy being the comfort fun for people like former Buffalo Bills star pass rusher Bruce Smith and former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, who failed to bring home a Super Bowl ring in their illustrious careers.

As for some of the other adds that had big success on Sunday?

"Kawasaki was great. Dunkin Donuts was great," said Conjerti.

The Dunkin ad shows Affleck forming a band called "the DunKings" with Matt Damon and Tom Brady against the advice of rapper Jack Harlow.

"The Buffalo audience won't love the Tom Brady cameo," said Conjerti.

He also gives kudos to Pluto TV for the couch potato commercial.

"Great execution. Great idea, and a great way to introduce their product to a global audience.

According to USA TODAY's Ad Meter, the State Farm commercial featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a State Farm Agent and spokesman ranked as their No. 1 Super Bowl commercial.

However, being a spokesperson means you have to say the company's familiar slogan, "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there." That's a problem for the hero, because he pronounces it "neighbah" instead of "neighbor."

As for ads that may have missed the mark, Conjerti said Beyonce's ad promoting her new country album was a good idea, but he doesn't think it landed well.

Same goes for Coors' Chill Train, featuring LL Cool J and Lainey Wilson.
