Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A former Buffalo music teacher gets a conditional discharge and surrenders his teacher's license after admitting to trying meet someone he thought was a teen.

36-year-old Steven DeMart pleaded guilty this week to Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child in Amherst Town Court. DeMart admitted to trying to meet with someone who he believed to be a 13-year-old child in May. He later reported the incident to the Amherst Police Department.

Prosecutors say DeMart chatted with an adult, who he thought was a child, on multiple occasions through social media apps, also sending sexually explicit videos to the complainant.

DeMart, who was working as a music teacher for the Buffalo Public School District, was suspended from his position after the incident was reported to police.
