Three arraigned in Cheyenne Farewell murder

Two of those arraigned are juveniles, say prosecutors

Lockport, NY (WBEN) Two juveniles and an adult were arraigned in connection with the shooting death of Cheyenne Farewell during a Halloween party in Lockport.

Prosecutors say Jonathan Frey and the two adolescents were arraigned in Niagara County Youth Part by the Honorable Diane Vitello. The defendants were charged in relation to the October 17, 2020 shooting in Lockport that resulted in injuries to five young people and the death of Cheyenne Farewell.


Each of the two youths were charged with Murder in the Second Degree, multiple counts of Assault in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon charges.

Jonathan Frey was charged with one count of Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree for his participation in the offenses.

Farewell of Medina, a young woman who had been a cheerleader while attending Medina High School some two years ago, died in the shooting. In addition two other current Medina High students were injured.

The matter will return to court February 16th. The Adolescent Offenders are being held on $500,000 bail. All three defendants remain in custody.
