Cheektowaga, NY (WBEN) Three Cheektowaga public safety dispatchers are suspended following an investigation into misuse of the FLOCK ALPR system.
Police Chief Brian Coons says the months long investigation began after an internal audit found the dispatchers searched for another employee's license plate without consent. He says the behavior stopped and the investigation began to determine the scope of the policy violation and whether the public was targeted. He adds the DA's office was informed.
Cheektowaga Police say they are taking steps to tighten policies and procedures to help prevent future incidents.
