
North Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Three people are dead after an Amtrak train struck a vehicle in North Tonawanda on Friday night.
The incident was reported at Felton Street and River Road, according to North Tonawanda Fire officials, who say the train was located closer to Ward Road upon arrival.
Firefighters worked quickly to remove three victims from the vehicle, and three ambulances from Twin City Ambulance were dispatched to the scene, where lifesaving efforts were underway, but unsuccessful.
The identities of the victims have not been released, but police say they are a 69-year-old male, 66-year-old female and a 6-year-old male.
No injuries among those onboard the train were reported.
The North Tonawanda Police Department is conducting the initial investigation.
