Three people hospitalized following collision with tractor trailer in Darien

Darien, N.Y. (WBEN) - Three women have been hospitalized, two with serious injuries, following a collision with a tractor trailer Wednesday night.

According to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, the three women were attempting to make a left turn off McVean Road on to State Route 77 and were struck by the tractor trailer after failing to yield the right of way.

One of the women was thrown from the vehicle, a 2022 Subaru, and struck by a 2018 Ford Escape.

30-year-old Brittany Smith of Macedon - driver of the Subaru - 30-year-old Kayleigh Williams of Rochester and 30-year-old Ariana Dupra of Fairport were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Williams and Dupra are listed as critical, but in stable condition.

The driver of the tractor trailer did not sustain any injuries. The two occupants of the Ford Escape were also uninjured.
