Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WBEN) Toll hikes quietly took effect this week at the Lewiston Queenston, Rainbow and Whirlpool bridges into Canada.
The new rates were not previously announced. The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission said the toll hikes are needed to recoup losses during the pandemic.
The increase for cars went from $4 dollars to $5 dollars.
Limos and RVs face the same increase. Buses face a $3 to $5 dollar increase depending on size.
The toll hikes were voted on July 25, and took effect one week later, on August 1.
The latest toll rates can be found here.
There is no increase at the Peace Bridge in Ft. Erie, which is under separate bridge management.
