Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - "Santa just passed over Guam about a minute ago. And he's on his way to Papua, New Guinea."
That was John Ingle from NORAD, The North American Aerospace Defense Command in Colorado, when he joined WBEN on Christmas Eve morning.
NORAD has been tracking Santa's worldwide movements for 70 years.

"We use the tools that we use everyday in defense of North America. We use ground based radars and infra red sensors that are on satellites that are roughly 23 thousand miles above the earth. We're able to lock onto
Rudolph's red nose. It gives off a heat signature of a missile," said Ingle.
Santa's sleigh travels at incredible speed to be able to deliver presents to billions of households. Ingle refers to it as "starlight speed."
