Buffalo, NY (WBEN) State Police are identifying the Trooper and driver involved in Saturday's officer-involved shooting in Buffalo. The suspect died at the scene after being shot by Trooper Anthony Nigro.

NYSP say Trooper Nigro is a 14-year veteran of the New York State Police and assigned to SP Buffalo. The deceased driver is identified as James Huber, 38, of North East, Pennsylvania.

State Police say troopers attempted to stop an erratic operator on the I-90 Saturday morning. The preliminary investigation determined Huber continued to drive erratically and exited on I-190 northbound. Troopers say Huber then exited into the city of Buffalo and the pursuit was terminated.

While patrolling the city of Buffalo, Troopers located the Hubert, pulled over and talking to bystanders on East Eagle Street near Washington Street.
The preliminary investigation determined Troopers approached the vehicle, gave verbal commands and at one point during the interaction with the suspect, Nigro discharged his division issued firearm at Huber, who died at the scene.

Nigro has minor injuries.
