
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department has announced the arrest of two Buffalo residents after the execution of a search warrant Wednesday led to the recovery of guns and drugs on the 100 block of Rano Street.
The search warrant was signed by the Honorable Judge Shannon Heneghan and conducted by the Buffalo Police Intelligence Unit, Buffalo Police SWAT, ATF, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
Two weapons were recovered as a result of the search warrant, including a 9 mm Glock 26 loaded with 14 rounds, as well as a Taurus .38 revolver. A high capacity drum magazine, four additional Glock magazines, and miscellaneous rounds of ammunition were also obtained by police.
In addition, approximately 10.5 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine were recovered.
Jose Ortiz-Morales, 35, and Brenda Hernandez, 47, were both arrested and identically charged with:
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class "C" felony);
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class "C" felony);
- Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class "D" felony);
- One count of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor).
Hernandez has been charged one additional count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm (Class "E" felony), while Ortiz-Morales has been charged one additional count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class "D" felony).
