Lockport, NY (WBEN) Two adolescent offenders plead guilty in connection with last October's shooting death of Cheyenne Farewell. One has pleaded guilty to pulling the trigger.
Prosecutors say the youth who fired into the home in Lockport on October 17th, 2020, pleaded guilty to second degree murder, two counts of first degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. That offender could face 20 years to life when sentenced in September.
The other offender was charged with aiding and abetting, and plead guilty to manslaughter. That offender faces 25 years to life in prison.
"This was a completely senseless crime," said District Attorney Brian Seaman. "How little value these offenders placed on the lives of these young people is truly appalling."
Farewell was attending a Halloween party with friends when gunfire came through a closed, metal garage door. A total of six people were struck by bullets, five people were sent to the hospital. Farewell died en route to the hospital from her injuries. Farewell was attending Brockport State University and was a graduate of Medina High School.
Both are in custody pending sentencing.
