Lockport, N.Y. (WBEN) - As Lockport Police continue to investigate the shooting death of Cheyenne Farewell of Medina, early Saturday morning at 43 South Niagara Street, Lockport, police and prosecutors are seeking help from the public in solving the crime.
Farewell was attending a Halloween party with friends when gunfire came through a closed, metal garage door. A total of six people were struck by bullets, five people were sent to the hospital. Farewell died en route to the hospital from her injuries.
Farewell was attending Brockport State University and was a graduate of Medina High School.
The Niagara Intelligence and Crime Analyst Center has set up a dedicated email for the case. Anyone with photographs, video footage or social media pertaining to the case are being asked to send it to nicacnf@gmail.com.
"We know that many young people attended the party and may be concerned about their parents finding out or are being discouraged from getting involved. We need your courage to come forward with anything you may know. This is a tragedy beyond words. Cheyenne was an innocent victim and deserves justice, her family, her friends, her community deserve justice," said Niagara County District Attorney Caroline A. Wojtaszek. "I can assure you that everyone is working day and night to hold those responsible for this senseless loss of precious life," Wojtaszek said."
