Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Two Buffalo teens are facing murder and gun charges for their role in a fatal shooting that took place this past August in the city's LaSalle neighborhood.

Two 18-year-old males were arraigned on Monday morning before Youth Part Judge Brenda Freedman on an indictment. Both adolescent offenders have been charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class "A-I" felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class "C" violent felony).

It is alleged that on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 at approximately 5:20 p.m. EST, the adolescent offenders, while acting in concert with one another, intentionally shot 21-year-old Quban Romell Najee Embry with an illegal gun. The crime occurred on the front porch of a residence on the 200 block of Shirley Avenue.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both adolescent offenders were 17-years-old at the time of the homicide. The Erie County District Attorney's Office will not be releasing their names due to their eligibility for youthful offender adjudication.

The adolescent offenders are scheduled to return before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case, a designated Youth Part judge, for further proceedings on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. EST.

Both teens were remanded to the custody of the Erie County Youth Services Center.
