Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - Four districts in Western New York saw their proposed budgets shot down by voters Tuesday.
Grand Island, Lyndonville, Randolph and West Valley all had their budgets fail.
Districts have two options - they can either put the same budget or a revised budget up for a second vote; or immediately adopt a contingency budget.
Budgets across the region otherwise passed overwhelmingly. More than 79% of voters in Niagara Falls voted in favor of the City School District's $211,260,990 budget, which includes the use of reserve funds to close an $8 million budget gap.
In Lockport, voters approved the district's budget, as well as a $17.5 million capital improvement project that will upgrade facilities throughout the district.
