BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Democratic nominee for Buffalo Mayor, India Walton, was endorsed Thursday by at least two members of the Buffalo School Board, though not in their official capacity as an elected official.

Larry Scott and Jennifer Mecozzi both lauded Walton for her involvement in the community and goals to improve the district.

"Yes, we've had issues superceding the current administration but the current administration has not been here for 5 minutes," Mecozzi said. "They've been here for 15 years."

"It was inspiring to hear a future mayor of Buffalo understand the holistic nature of our problems and, in turn, the holistic need for change," Scott said.

The Brown campaign responded, "The Brown campaign is focused on continuing to grow our momentum. Every day, Mayor Brown and his team of hundreds of volunteers engage voters and work for victory in November."

Walton said she has also been endorsed by fellow school board members Hope Jay, Dr. Kathy Evans-Brown, and Dr. Ann Rivera.
