Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Center for Regional Strategies partners with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at SUNY Buffalo State to support small businesses in Western New York.

The SBDC is offering a certificate program designed for existing entrepreneurs to expand and grow their businesses through marketing and contracts. The program objectives are to help businesses build their credibility and increase their ability to conduct business with anchor institutions.


Students will learn how to develop effective sales tools, business readiness requirements to secure contracts, and digital marketing essentials. They will also have their professional headshots taken.

The program starts on March 26 and runs for eight-consecutive Wednesdays. Registration by March 6 is recommended.

To expand the reach and impact of its work to advance cancer prevention, early detection and survivorship support, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is proud to recognize the five recipients of its inaugural Community Impact Grant program. Through this initiative, Roswell Park's Community Alliance to Reach, Empower, and Sustain (CARES) program awarded a total of $50,000 in grants to five local organizations for innovative, community-driven projects aimed at reducing cancer risk and enhancing the quality of life for patients, survivors and caregivers.

The Community Impact Grants reflects Roswell Park's commitment to strengthening partnerships across Western New York to create a healthier, more informed community.

Following a national professional search process, Julie R. Berrigan, MS has been named Executive Director of the ECMC Foundation. The Foundation received strong interest from a broad range of highly experienced candidates. Julie Berrigan emerged from that process as the consensus individual to serve as the Foundation's new Executive Director.

Serving most recently as Director of the NCCC Foundation, Berrigan is an accomplished development professional with over 15 years of experience in healthcare, education, and nonprofit sectors across Western New York.
