Who are Bills fans rooting for in the Super Bowl?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – Sunday's Super Bowl won't exactly be the most exciting one to watch for any Bills fans.

On one side, there's Tom Brady, the longtime nemesis from the New England Patriots, who joined Tampa Bay last offseason and is on the cusp of winning his 7th Super Bowl ring.

But on the other side is Patrick Mahomes, who is quickly establishing himself as the new face of the NFL and has already won one Super Bowl. He and the Kansas City Chiefs are arguably the toughest opponent the Buffalo Bills will have for years to come.

Is there a team to root for? For many Bills fans, their minds are already made up: Kansas City is the team to root for.

"Because Brady's got a fat head," one woman said, laughing. "He's won way, way too many. He's cocky and he needs to be taken down a peg."

That was the general consensus among several random Western New Yorkers we caught up with. Though there was at least one who said he wanted to see Brady win one more, though it was because of the hope he would retire upon winning again.

"This is the least excited I've been leading up to a Super Bowl in years just because to have come so close and have daydreams before the AFC Championship," Del Reid, one of the originators of Bills Mafia, told WBEN. "I know I'm going to watch the game but I've really retreated mentally thinking about it in general. Typically with the Super Bowl…the only thing I'm rooting for is a good game."

Reid said it would be interesting to see Brady win a Super Bowl outside of New England, but that's only because it would upset some Patriots fans.

"The petty Bills fans in me wouldn't mind that so much," he said.
