Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WBEN) - Western New Yorker are getting their last minute shopping done before stores close their doors for the holiday season.

Shoppers who tried going to Wegmans early in the morning to beat the crowd explained that they still had to wait in lines.

"A little surprising this early already, so I can only imagine what it's going to get like later. The lady that cashed me out said that Wegmans yesterday had 80,000 shoppers through their stores in Western New York. That's insane, 80,000 people," stated a Wegmans shopper.

"I actually went to DiCamillo's, a bread store over there, and then came here. In both places, the lines were a lot longer than I thought for this time of day."

"Last minute stuff for appetizers, some cash for gifts, and probably a few little things I've forgotten, which I'm not sure what that is, but it'll come to me."

Sandy with DiCamillo's in Niagara Falls says it's been an extremely busy day with people coming in to buy one of their most popular items.

"Our bread is our most famous thing that we sell. But that being said, we also sell a ton of kimmelweck rolls and hard rolls, semi hard, all kinds of cakes. It's that time of year, everybody wants their sweets and their goodies, and we provide it," stated Sandy in an interview with WBEN.
