Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo police are investigating a fatal crash that happened at the top of the Skyway late Thursday night, resulting in the shut down of the highway in both directions for five hours.
The crash happened around at 11:30 p.m. in the inbound lanes. One of the two vehicles involved was driving in the wrong direction and crashed into the other vehicle head-on.
Of the three people involved in the accident, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers, a male and female, were taken to Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries.
The name of the woman that was killed has not been released.
