Journalists who cover billionaire Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter CEO Elon Musk started disappearing from the Twitter platform Thursday evening.

“Early Thursday evening, I started receiving messages that my Twitter account was suspended. I initially thought I was being trolled. But I picked up my phone to check it out and lo and behold, it’s true,” said an email sent out by journalist Aaron Rupar.

Rupar went on to say that he doesn’t know what rules he allegedly broke and that he hasn’t heard from Twitter.

“I did publish a newsletter Wednesday morning featuring an article from Noah Berlatsky about Elon Musk’s reactionary populism,” he said.

NBC News reporter Ben Collins also noted that Donie O’Sullivan of CNN and Drew Harwell of The Washington Post had been suspended, as well as Keith Olbermann. Before Olbermann’s account was suspended, he had tweeted about Harwell and Rupar’s suspensions.

As of Wednesday, a Twitter account dedicated to tracking the locations of Musk had also been suspended. While Musk appeared to address this suspension in a tweet, there did not appear to be any reference to the journalist suspensions up on his account as of 9:15 p.m. ET Thursday.

Since Musk acquired Twitter, he has made controversial changes to the social media’s verification system.
