Snoop Dogg stopped “smoke” and Martha Stewart has canceled Thanksgiving… it appears that we have entered the Twilight Zone this week.

“Oh, I gave up Thanksgiving,” Stewart told singer Kelly Clarkson on her talk show this week.

For decades, Stewart has been synonymous with creating a welcoming home and preparing events such as Thanksgiving dinner. This year, illness and guest cancellations made her decide to take a break.

“Nine guests canceled, because somebody got sick,” she told Clarkson.
“So I decided – I called up my chef friend and I said ‘We’re not doing Thanksgiving.’ And I’ve also cooked like 14 turkeys already for my TV show.”

“You’ve kind of done it,” said Clarkson.

Stewart agreed that she is “turkey-ed out.”

Clarkson suggested a “Taco Thursday” option instead of traditional Thanksgiving, but Stewart revealed that she has made plans since canceling. She’s going to around five different gatherings to taste test their courses.

“They must be so stressed out,” Clarkson gasped.

“I hope so,” laughed Stewart.

Her longtime friend, rapper Snoop Dogg, also made headlines with surprising news this week: he decided to give up “smoke,” per a social media post. He also asked for privacy and couldn’t immediately be contacted for comment.

Many of Snoop Dogg’s songs reference his love for marijuana, from “we gonna smoke an ounce to this,” in “Gin and Juice” to “I roll the best weed ‘cause I got it going on,” in “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, so the news came as a bit of a shock to fans. It turns out that the announcement was indeed a marketing ploy.

Even though Stewart is taking a break from making her own Thanksgiving bird this year, her website still offers tips for people planning to cook up their own turkeys. These include articles on eight different ways to cook a turkey and four mistakes home cooks make with them.
