A $250,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the safe return of Lina Sardar Khil, a 4-year-old girl who went missing from a playground in December.
The Islamic Center of San Antonio is offering $200,000 and Crime Stoppers of San Antonio is offering $50,000 for a total reward of $250,000.
Officials say Lina was last seen on December 20 at a playground at the apartment complex where her family lives in San Antonio. Lina's mother was watching her, according to police, but she walked away for a short time and when she came back, her daughter was gone.
Police have no information about who took Lina or what vehicle was used in her possible abduction. They believe she vanished between 4:30 and 5:10 p.m. that day. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said Lina was not completely alone because there were other parents with their children at the playground when her mother walked away, People reported. An Amber Alert was issued on December 21.
Officers went door-to-door in search of anyone who may have witnessed what happened. The FBI sent a dive team to search a nearby creek. Still, investigators have found no traces of Lina, who was 3-years-old when she disappeared.
The San Antonio Police Department said the case is still an active missing person investigation. McManus tweeted that there has been "no pause" in his department's efforts to find Lina.
"We will continue to diligently comb through leads in hopes of locating Lina and reuniting her with her family," the department said in a statement about a month after Lina disappeared. "While the Amber Alert for Lina has been suspended, it's critical to communicate that Lina is still a missing person."
Lina would have turned 4-years-old on Sunday, a moment her family marked by holding a birthday celebration at the apartment complex where she vanished, WOIA reported.
Lina is described as 4-feet tall and 55 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red dress with a black jacket and black shoes.
