NEW YORK (WBEN) — Not much has been revealed about the state attorney general's investigation into potential misdeeds by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
On Thursday, Attorney General Letitia James held a news conference on an unrelated matter and shed little light on where things stand with the Cuomo administration.
In New York City, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reports James was tight-lipped as she was peppered with questions about the probe.
She declined to provide details about anything, including a timeline.
"I cannot give you a date on when it is concluded, it will conclude when it concludes," James said.
The attorney general is looking into sexual harassment allegations made by several women against the governor.
In May it was reported that the probe would expand to include calls from the state’s then–vaccine czar to county executives asking if they’d call for the governor’s resignation.
"I cannot comment on whether or not we've interviewed the governor of the state of New York, but we have engaged in a number of interviews already,' James said.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting investigators have questioned Rich Azzopardi, one of the governor's closest aides.
Several accusers and dozens of officials in Cuomo’s administration have received subpoenas from the state attorney general’s office.
In March, James named Joon Kim, a former U.S. Attorney, and Anne Clark, an employment discrimination lawyer, to lead the investigation into the sexual harassment allegations against Cuomo.
