NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – The state attorney general's investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against Gov. Andrew Cuomo is moving along, with four accusers reportedly receiving subpoenas to testify under oath.
The New York Times reported that the women received subpoenas following preliminary interviews by outside lawyers hired by Attorney General Letitia James' office.
Accuser Charlotte Bennett is expected to testify in the next two weeks, her lawyer Debra Katz told the Times.
In addition to preliminary interviews, Bennett has also given more than “120 pages of contemporaneous records” as part of the investigation, according to Katz.
“Looking forward to this,” Bennett tweeted Saturday along with a link to the Times article about the subpoenas.
Other women who have received subpoenas include an unidentified female staffer who accused Cuomo of groping her in the Executive Mansion, as well as Lindsey Boylan and Ana Liss, according to the report.
The governor has been accused by multiple women of inappropriate behavior, including subjecting some to unwanted kisses and hugs.
Cuomo has repeatedly denied the allegations and most recently said that he was “eager” to tell his side of the story in the investigation overseen by the attorney general.
On Thursday, Cuomo again denied any wrongdoing and asked people to wait for the attorney general’s report.
“I did nothing wrong [and] I never said I didn't have faith in the attorney general's investigation,” Cuomo said.
The governor made the comments after he said on May 3 that “I’m not telling anyone to have faith in anything.”
According to the Times, the attorney general investigation is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
