NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she was about to “deck” a man who made lewd comments about her on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
The congresswoman posted video on Twitter of the man, reportedly a far-right troll, confronting her as she arrived at the Capitol building on Wednesday.
In the video, the man repeatedly refers to her as his “favorite big booty Latina” and claims she “wants to kill babies.”
The Bronx-Queens Democrat briefly stops and acknowledges him.
“Why don’t you do a little selfie?” she says sarcastically, looking directly at the man’s camera and giving a peace sign.
“I love it,” he shouts. “My favorite, AOC. Nice to meet you, AOC. Look how sexy she looks in that dress.”
Ocasio-Cortez addressed the episode on social media Wednesday night. She reportedly deleted her initial tweet about it in which she included a photo of the man and said he spewed “disgusting garbage in front of an officer who let him continue.”
“I posted about a deeply disgusting incident that happened today on the Capitol steps, but took it down bc it’s clearly someone seeking extremist fame,” she wrote. “It’s just a bummer to work in an institution that openly allowed this, but talking about it only invites more. Just really sad.”
In a follow-up tweet moments later, she posted the man's video and wrote, “Here is a video he posted of the incident. I was actually walking over to deck him because if no one will protect us then I’ll do it myself but I needed to catch a vote more than a case today.”
The man responded to her tweet a short time later, writing, “If you really love me you would of at least tagged me."
