Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - The Buffalo Sabres are the hottest ticket in town.

You might not have believed that just a few months ago, but after the remaining first-round playoff tickets sold out in under an hour Monday it's true.

For those looking on the resale market, it's not much better.

"There's not many season ticket holders that are selling their tickets," said Nick Giamusso, owner of VIPTix. "A lot of them are buying extras to give to friends and family members."

If you're thinking tickets were bought by bots or scalpers, that's mostly not the case. Giamusso estimates that across all resale platforms, only about 800 tickets are available for the first two playoff games in Buffalo. Typically, he says that number is between 1,500-2,500.

"If you're an out of town fan looking for tickets it's going to be nearly impossible to get into KeyBank Center," Giammuso said.

As for price, Giamusso said the resale price is $600 and up for the first playoff game, something he calls unheard of for the first round of the playoffs. However, some of those pricier listings fall under the 'Make me an offer I can't refuse' category and aren't necessarily listed by people who intend to sell.

Game One of the playoffs will be in Buffalo either this Saturday or Sunday.
