It seems we're still searching for springtime weather across the Buffalo-Niagara region, with snow and cold in the midweek forecast.
"We'll see fairly widespread snow showers through the day today," National Weather Service meteorologist Tony Ansuini tells WBEN. "We're not looking at much in the way of accumulation. Likely just a coating on the colder, grassy services." Roads should remain just wet, he adds.
South of Buffalo across the higher terrain, some accumulation of about an inch or two is possible.
For those of us searching for spring, Ansuini tells us there are some hopeful signs.
"It looks like today will be the coldest day of the week, temperatures only in the 30's today" he says. "We'll see some improvement starting tomorrow and into the weekend."
Some sunshine is forecast for Thursday with temps in the upper 40's. Into the weekend, highs in the lower 50's are in the forecast, but the warmer temps will come with some chances of rain.
While it may feel like we're waiting a long time for springtime weather across Western New York, it's pretty typical according to Ansuini.
"We could actually have snow into April, but we're starting to wind down the winter season," Ansuini says. "Hopefully."
