Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Following some of the region's lowest temperatures since mid-May and even April to start the week, temperatures will likely trend to at least 5-10 degrees above the historical average later in the week.
Monday will remain cool with increasing sunshine in advance of a pleasant fall week ahead. Mild temperatures and mostly fair weather through the week is in the forecast, National Weather Service forecasters say.

High temperatures Tuesday across the Western New York region Tuesday will hit around 70. An even warmer day on Wednesday with highs above 70 and even into the mid 70's along the Genesee Valley to the northern Finger Lakes.
Gusty winds again Wednesday off Lake Erie will hold the temperatures to the 60's in the Buffalo metro area to the immediate east of the lake.
Some showers are likely late Wednesday before the weekday warmth continues with highs around 70 through Friday.
Forecasters are eyeing the possibility of some steady rain as the weekend unfolds.
