The 'tricky' mix for the Halloween forecast has three ingredients.

Cool. Wet. And windy.

"Today's going to be cool, wet and windy," National Weather Service meteorologist Heather Kenyon tells WBEN.

Expect showers around for the daytime Halloween and temperatures in the mid 40's. "They're actually going to diminish toward late afternoon, into the early evening hours, so for 'trick or treating' it actually might be dry in some spots," Kenyon says.

The wind will be an issue for the 'trick or treaters', however, and a Wind Advisory is posted for the entire region. "You could see gusts up to 50 mph, and that could be during 'trick or treating'," Kenyon warns.

Showers will linger into the first half of the weekend, with weak lake effect bands of rain developing off Lake Erie through Saturday, before diminishing for the start of Sunday.

Bills-Chiefs Forecast

"Rain showers are going to be tapering off through the day, and it looks dry Sunday evening, with temperatures on the cooler side. But dry."

Unsettled weather makes a return late Monday into Monday night with a chance of showers.
