Dry but chilly Saturday followed by warming Sunday and unsettled week ahead

The weekend in Western New York will be a split screen between a dry and unseasonably chilly Saturday, followed by a warming Sunday with mainly dry conditions.

Temperatures for the coming week will be comfortably warm, however the weather accompanying those temps will be somewhat unsettled at times.


High pressure across the Great Lakes will lead to most areas across the region seeing plentiful sunshine this afternoon, however highs will be a bit below normal and mainly in the mid 40's.

A warm front will move through Sunday, bringing with it the chance for some showers, mainly across the northern most portions of the WNY region, and temperatures will become much more seasonable.

The high temperature Sunday will be in the low to mid 60's, with temperatures trending well above average starting Monday, with warmth then persisting through the rest of the week.

Highs will likely reach the 70's across the lower elevations inland from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario each day. A few locations may make a run at 80 by the middle of the week if shower and dense cloud coverage remains low enough.

Next week will not be a washout, but each of the fast moving weak features will bring an uptick in coverage of showers and a few thunderstorms.
