Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Unseasonably mild conditions will fade away as Sunday progresses, making way for much colder temperatures and a transition from rain to snow overnight into Monday.
As colder air deepens across the region, a transition to snow is expected through the evening hours, with accumulating snow across higher terrain, and lighter snow accumulations across lower elevations through Monday morning, National Weather Service forecasters say. Temps will be dropping to or below the freezing mark.
An inch or two of snow is possible on the hills in the higher terrain by Monday morning, with less than an inch at lower elevations. However, by Monday morning, temperatures will be lowering to around the freezing mark or lower, making any untreated wet roads slippery, especially bridges and overpasses.
