A line of wild weather and, even a tornado warning, alarmed the Buffalo-Niagara area late in the day Dyngus Day.

Rounds of heavy rain and winds swept the region, leaving some minor flooding in its path in spots.

"We didn't get any reports of tornadoes," National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Welch tells WBEN. "A little bit of reports of some wind damage down in Chautauqua County, and some flooding, but nothing tornado-wise."

The wild weather ride made way for some quiet, mostly dry and warmer conditions through midweek across the Western New York region.

"Below normal temperatures today," Welch notes, "But then we warm up for the rest of the week to near, or above, normal. High temps Tuesday will be in the lower 50's and into the 70's possible for Thursday and Friday.

One down note in the forecast is that it appears to be a wet start to the upcoming weekend.

"The next chance of showers comes in Friday afternoon, into Saturday morning," Welch warns.
