Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) -Sunday will prove to be the best day of the weekend that will extend into Monday for many.

Clouds and showers across Western New York will end, allowing for increasing amounts of sunshine Sunday.

While showers will slide into extremer eastern portions of the region and into the central portion of New York State Monday, WNY should be spared of any rain Monday.

Temperatures for Monday and Tuesday will start out with highs firmly above normal in the low to upper 60's with a few low 70's also possible.

Behind the passing cold front on Tuesday night, temperatures for Wednesday afternoon will drop below normal into the low to mid 50s for most areas, where they will also remain for the afternoon on Thursday.

High pressure over the region late in the week will continue the dry weather through at least Friday afternoon. An approaching warm front will start to increase the potential for showers starting later Friday evening and into the weekend, however uncertainty remains for the long range forecast.
