
With the 2020 election season coming to a close next week and the holiday season right around the corner, there will be a lot of disagreements one way or the other about what happens on the night of Nov. 3.
Politics and family sometimes don't mix well. And even more so now with the polarizing figures of Donald Trump and Joe Biden leading their respective parties causing a love-hate relationship amongst loved ones. One state congressional candidate knows the struggles of family functions all too well. Kalle Thompson, who's running for the District 100 seat in N.C.'s state house, often finds herself at odds with her family being one of the only conservatives.
The Charlotte native isn't alone. As a recent poll Gallup revealed 56% of Americans feel they have different political views than those of their relatives. Although, 24% felt they could openly discuss their different viewpoints at family functions.
