The Democrats are running a "Four Corners" offense in the final days of the 2020 Election.
For those who don't know about the term, let me explain. Famed North Carolina basketball coach Dean Smith used a strategy known as the "Four Corners" offense, which was technically a stall tactic to work the ball around the court without attempting a shot when his team held a big lead in a game.
Now, why would a coach deploy this knowing it's potentially risky? Because the team who was leading felt the need to ice the game by dribbling the clock out.
It's the same game plan the Democrats are running right now in North Carolina.
Senate candidate Cal Cunnigham is no where to be found after the sexting scandal. No public appearances. No mass media push in the final day. Nothing more than relying on what he has already done. One of Cunningham's biggest supporters, Gov. Roy Cooper, has the same approach. Unless it's a press conference to update people on the Coronavirus pandemic, he's been relatively unavailable to meet with people.
The "Four Corners" may work on the basketball court, but not in the world of politics. It's hard to believe this is how the final days will end for the party who thinks they're coasting to a win. The night of Nov. 3 is setting up to be one of the most interesting nights in modern political history.
