Two people were fatally shot in East Charlotte on Monday.
CMPD responded to calls of gunshots at the 2100 block of Kilborne Drive around 12:15 p.m.
When they arrived on the scene, a 26-year-old male was pronounced dead by Medic. A 27-year-old woman was taken to the hospital where she had died from injuries suffered in the shooting.
Police are conducting a homicide investigation and aren't releasing many details of the case.
Charlotte's homicide count for the year is now at 96. Twelve shy of last year's total of 108. and almost twice as many as 2018's count of 57.
