The Carolina Panthers (3-3) are starting to show their "true colors" early in the 2020 season.
Despite red zone issues that continue to haunt the Panthers, there were a lot of positives coming out of the 23-16 loss to the Chicago Bears (5-1) on Sunday. Turnovers and miscues were the "little things" that added up for the Panthers.
An interception by Teddy Bridgewater set the tone early for Carolina's offense, who still managed over 300 yards against one of the top five defenses in the NFL. But, nonetheless the Panthers kept another game close without Christian McCaffrey in the lineup.
Panthers play-by-play announcer Mick Mixon believes the team is coming together under a reconstruction plan which won't happen overnight. "I think what we saw yesterday, it's easy to go "Oh my gosh the sacks" and "Oh, the interception and red zone inefficiency" and "if only D.J. Moore could've caught that one." But if you look at it from 2,500 feet, there are going to be games like this as the Matt Rhule rocket is inching toward the launching pad."
Carolina goes down south to the Big Easy for an NFC South battle with the New Orleans Saints next Sunday (1:00 p.m. ET, Radio: WBT/TV: FOX).
