Eddie Money, 'Two Tickets To Paradise' Singer, Dead At 70

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Rock and reality TV star Eddie Money has died Friday following a battle with cancer. He was 70.

“The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music," his family said in a statement to Variety.

Last month, the “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “Baby Hold On To Me” singer recently revealed that he had been battling stage 4 esophageal cancer.

The revelation was made on his reality TV show "Real Money," which aired on AXS TV.

Over the summer, Money canceled his tour dates after developing pneumonia following heart valve surgery in the spring.

In 1987, Money was nominated for best rock vocal Grammy for his duet with Ronnie Spector, "Take Me Home Tonight."
