3 dead after car crashes into utility pole by Long Island firehouse

BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Three people were killed when the car they were in crashed into a utility pole on Long Island Thursday evening, Suffolk County police said.

The three male victims were found in a 2019 Chrysler 300 that struck a pole on Montauk Highway, near Carman Boulevard, in Brookhaven shortly before 7:50 p.m.

The crash scene was adjacent to the Brookhaven Fire Department headquarters.

The victims haven’t been identified, and their ages aren't yet known.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, police said.
